My name is Kelly Bickett and I am co-owner of Northern California Insurance Services with my sister, Pam Severtson. I have been a licensed fire and casualty agent since 1991 and have worked at NCI since January, 1990.
I am a licensed agent and I primarily sell personal lines insurance. My other responsibilities at NCI include accounting and administration. I keep the bills paid, the licensing current and refill the ink on the copier when it runs out! I see to many other duties necessary to run a business. I enjoy spending time with my clients when they come in to visit, pay their premiums or have questions – so I definitely encourage you to come see me.
I graduated in 1981 from CSU, Chico with a degree in Social Science. After college, I worked for both the California state legislature and the Washington state legislature. I then went to Germany for 3 years and worked for the Dept. of the Army. Upon returning to Redding, I worked briefly for the American Heart Association and Foothill Distributing. I was then hired by my dad, Howard Kirkpatrick, to help run the business he started in the 1970s – Northern California Insurance Services. In 1997, Pam and I bought the business from Dad.
For the last 10 years or so I have also been the President of the Independent Insurance Agents of Shasta County. Our organization serves as a resource for agents in and around Redding and we occasionally get together for golf as well!
I am recently retired as President of the Enterprise High School Sports Boosters and spent quite a lot of time raising money for the sport programs for our kids. For the last 8 years I’ve had good reason to be involved – I’ve had athletes at EHS since 2005. It’s very important to me to be where my kids are – and that was on the field, the court, the diamond or the track.
I have been married to my husband Curtis for 25 years. We have two sons – Josh and Taylor, a daughter – Kelsey and our “bonus kids” – Anthony and James Williams. All the kids are grown and on to college and/or working lives. It means our grocery bill is smaller, but it doesn’t mean I’ve slowed down! I still enjoy watching high school and college sports, gardening, reading and volunteering.
My newest title is “grandma”. Son Josh and his wife Angela welcomed baby Kaci in 2013. It’s been an exciting time and I look forward to this additional role as well!
I’d love for you to stop by to chat and maybe I can help you with your insurance coverages – even the ones you dread. Teenage drivers? Been there. Your budget can’t handle increased premiums? Done that too. Call me to see if I can help!
My name is Pam Severtson and I am one of the co-owners of Northern California Insurance Services. I have been in the insurance business since 1985 when my father, Howard Kirkpatrick, hired me. I have been a licensed fire and casualty broker/agent since July, 1989 and a licensed life and health agent since July, 2001.
I concentrate on business insurance such as liability, property, commercial auto, workers compensation, farm, group health and group life. I also actively sell individual life and health insurance. I am certified to sell the Covered California health insurance plans. This important designation allows me to help clients with their health insurance needs in this new climate under the Affordable Care Act.
I have served on the Agency Advisory Councils for Safeco Insurance and Capital Insurance Group.
My husband and I have lived in Shasta County since 1963 and 1968, respectively. We have one son, a daughter-in-law and two grandsons. We also have a lab/border collie mix, who keeps us on our toes!
My hobbies include working on our property and shooting archery. We live on 5 acres, which gives us plenty of room to practice (and plenty of work to do too). We travel throughout Northern California, Oregon and Nevada every year for archery tournaments and occasionally venture to the East Coast for tournaments as well.
I am a Life Member, Past President and Past Tournament Director of Straight Arrow Bow Hunters in Redding, Secretary for California Bowmen Hunters/State Archery Association and a sponsored shooter for Limbsaver, based in Washington.
